For some people, winter is the favorite season.
No, not only because of snow related fun (only in upper northern and lower
southern hemisphere) but also for the reason they get to wear the type clothes
that comes with the season – Jacket, Overcoat, Sweater, Hoodie etc. which items
give them a chance to look dashing and beautiful gender-wise with less amount
of thinking and make-up. The only problem some of them face when they mess up
by wearing the wrong item to a wrong occasion, like wearing a hoodie or sweater
in office or wearing a suit or overcoat in an informal gathering. We are here
to paint a clear picture on what to be done to avoid these mishaps.
Jacket: It is a unisex winterwear most suitable for casual
occasion. Depending on the fabric, it has the widest caliber of use from formal
to informal occasions and places.
Denim jackets are mostly used on informal occasions where a Suit Jacket and
Blazer is mostly for formal occasions although the latter one is less formal;
ergo, it can be worn in informal occasions. For suit jacket and blazer, color
matters too. The darker the clothing, more formal it becomes. Colorful suit
jackets and blazers fall into more of a formal-informal region of occasions
like an office party outside.
Overcoat: it is an
outerwear as one wears it on top of the formal or informal clothing. It goes
either way for both genders. From men in formal shirt to women in casual
clothing, it works on every type of get-up.
Sweater: It is best suited
for casual occasions in daily life. Wearing this on a social gathering like outside
parties with mostly non-familiar people might look awkward but, in a family
gathering it’s more than acceptable to be worn.
Hoodie: Nothing screams
casual than a hoodie does for itself. You can wear this anywhere except in
formal meeting both inside office and outside office party.
Shoes: Wearing shoes or
footwear that shows skin is a no-no for this weather. Sandals, Flipflops and
other strapped footwear should be avoided to prevent catching cold. Wear snickers
and conventional shoes instead, on casual and formal gatherings respectively.
Gloves: Gloves are mostly
casual except where these are required to be worn. For casual gatherings, gloves
made of any type of fabric, be it leather, wool etc., can be worn but for
formal gathering, gloves made of smooth fabric are more expected than other
types. But given the COVID-19 situation around, any gloves are better than no
gloves.
Muffler: Mufflers with
plaid, stripes or check design are more normal for formal gatherings although
they are perfect for casual occasions too. But mufflers with any design other
than the aforementioned designs should be avoided in office, institution, or
any other formal gatherings.
Winterwear for Head: There
are so many variations of clothing for this purpose. Hats made of warm fabric
like wool or beanie, baggy hat are more popular these days. But for casual yet
stylish purpose, baggy button cap is making a comeback, thanks to Peaky Blinders.
In formal occasion, wearing conventional hats are old-school yet
acceptable.
